Helping to create a #PlasticFreeGM

The PlasticFreeGM campaign aims to put Greater Manchester at the forefront of taking action to eliminate avoidable single-use plastics, helping to reduce the impact of plastics on the environment.

Supported by the Mayor Andy Burnham and the Hospitality and Tourism sector the launch of the campaign was announced at the Mayor’s Green Summit in March 2018 by Hotel Football owner and ex-Manchester United player, Gary Neville

PlasticFreeGM is looking to work through the ‘worst offenders’ in terms of avoidable single-use plastics (straws, stirrers, takeaway containers and cutlery, etc) and offers advice and guidance on which options are better for our planet. On this site you will find lots of information and resources to help you on your journey to reducing your plastic waste including best practice and case studies of businesses and organisations in Greater Manchester who are taking action, and inspiring change.
