Sign the pledge and help us to make Greater Manchester one of the greenest city regions in Europe.
Tourism and Hospitality Pledge
Greater Manchester’s tourism and hospitality sector will aim to eradicate the use of single use plastics by 2020. Within the next 6 months, local businesses will set out a plan to achieve this and, as a first step, have begun to replace plastic straws with more sustainable alternatives. This is part of a wider scheme to make our industry more sustainable.
Business or Organisation Pledge
As a business in Greater Manchester we will help to eradicate the use of avoidable single use plastics by the end of 2020. With support, we will review our practices, and make more sustainable choices about the products we offer, and the ways we deliver our services.
Individual Pledge
As a resident, worker or visitor to Greater Manchester, I am taking on the challenge. I will help to eradicate the use of avoidable single use plastics in our city-region by the end of 2020. I will make more sustainable choices about the products I use, and the way I live my life.
Local Authority Pledge
As a local authority in Greater Manchester we will help to eradicate the use of avoidable single use plastics by the end of 2024. With support, we will review our practices, and make more sustainable choices about the products we use, and the way we deliver our services.
University/Educational Institution Pledge
As an educational establishment in Greater Manchester we pledge to work together towards a shared vision of eradicating avoidable single use plastics from catering, labs and stationery by 2022. This is part of a wider commitment to lead the way on sustainability and achieve carbon neutral campuses across Greater Manchester by 2038.
